Hi Can you give me a starter for 10 on the best area in which to buy properties. We are looking to buy a number of properties - focussing on the more up-market holiday-maker - perhaps the italian marktet - but in a fairly up and coming sophisticated area. Any information would be really appreciated. Regards Tania

Hi Tania
The current hotspot seems to be Novigrad. Property there is selling very quickly. There are sometimes up to 3 buyers all trying to be first to get their deposit down on the same apartments. Only this week, we thought we had sold three apartments there, only to find when we got back to the developer that in a matter of hours, he had already received offers through other channels.
We have still got some apartments there, but not for long.
Umag is likely to be next. They are all within an hour of Trieste airport. (Ryanair)
Opatija is particularly up market and is only an hour from Ljubliana airport (Easyjet) or Rijeka (Air Croatia/Heathrow) There is a lot of pressure on in Opatija as permits to build new apartments are drying up. We have some there with fabulous views.
