Hi Peter, hope you can help, I am considering setting up a subsidary of my u.k. co to purchase properties and develop. I am unsure if this is the same as opening a Croatian co, i.e. is the cost the same to set up, and what are the tax implications afterwards many thanks, in anticipation

You could set up a Croatian company which was wholly owned by your UK company. 100% foreign ownership of Croatian companies is allowed. It would then be regarded as a Croatian entity and entitled to do anything a Croatian is allowed to do. Our legal department could set one up for you. For the tax implications of this you would be better consulting someone like KPMG, who have an office in Zagreb and would know the interfaces between UK and Croatian tax law. There is a link to their office from our other website www.croatiapropertyservices.com
