Speed cameras are starting to appear.
There is one on the road from Porec to Kastelir at Stranici in a 50kph section. A letter arrives in the post for Kns 500, although if you pay it immediately it is reduced to Kns250.
Another is at Kadumi on the Porec-Pazin road although I'm not sure if it is switched on yet.

Just heard of another one on the Rovinj road at Putini, near the Hyundai dealership. It used to be popular for a hand held radar but now has a camera.

From the Croatian media:
At the beginning of the year, the Ministry of the Interior started installing fixed cameras with the intention of setting up the infrastructure for the use of a total of 75 fixed speed measuring devices at 150 locations in all Croatian counties this year and next.
There were eight of them in Istria the other day, but motorists noticed on Monday that new ones were being installed on individual roads.
When asked by the Reporting Analytics and Public Relations Department of the Police of Istria, they replied that fixed cameras were installed on November 18 at the following locations:
ŽC 5077, Debeljuhi (Žminj-Kanfanar),
ŽC 5115, Valbandon (Fažana-Pula) i
DC 75, intersection DC 75 / Fažana / Galižana, (Vodnjan-Pula).
As we have already written, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the devices will move from one place to another according to the security situation, that is, empty housings without cameras will perform their preventive function.
What they do and what they don't do in Istria is currently unknown, but many drivers have already received "greetings" at their home addresses, most often for speeding, though cameras can record other infractions, such as using a cellphone while driving or without a seat belt .
With these cameras, let's reiterate where others in Istria have been in action since spring:
LABIN, Vinež, Štemberger street opposite cp no. 18 (Ž5081), RASA, the intersection of D66 State Road and Ivan Batelić Street, MARCANA, Loborika, Loborika 31 (D66), SVETVINCENAT, Jurisici (in front of the chapel), KANFANAR, Putini, Putini 2A (D303), ROVINJ, Kokuletovica, intersection of St. Maximilian road from Vestra-Ž5096, POREČ, Kadumi (D302) i POREČ, Stranici kod Nova Vas (Ž5041).
