Croatia has jumped five places to be ranked the 28th most peaceful country in the world by the Institute for Economics and Peace.
The Institute ranked 162 nations in the world using 23 indicators of peace which included crime levels, number of police per 100,000, prison populations and homicide rates to name a few.
This year's Global Peace Index saw Iceland take the number one spot, with a top ten that included Denmark, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Japan, Sweden and Belgium. The US came in at 100th, China 101st with Afghanistan coming in last place.
