Dualling of the Ypsilon from Pula up to the Myrna bridge is being rapidly completed. Much of it is already functioning particularly South of Kanfanar and white lining seems to be getting done on the rest. North of the Myrna bridge they are still earth moving on some stretches, but it looks like even that part could be open for midsummer. Since part of the work has involved building toll stations, be prepared to have to pay to use the Ypsilon after the summer. Currently, you only have to pay when crossing the Myrna bridge or if you join or exit at Pula or Vodnjan.
Dualling of the other arm of the Ypsilon is currently under way between Kanfanar and Pazin where they have been widening the cutting at Kanfanar. I've no news yet on dualling from Pazin to Ucka. That stretch has a lot of viaducts that will be expensive to dual. Since there seem to be no plans to widen either the Lim or Myrna bridges just yet, resulting in the dual carriageway reverting to single lanes over those, it may be that various viaducts around and beyond Pazin will similarly remain single lane in each direction with new passing places in between them.
On the East coast Barban seems to be getting a new bypass road. Be prepared for lengthy detours on white roads.

The Ypsilon from Pula to the Slovenian border now seems to be operating as a two lanes in each direction dual carriageway all the way now, with the exception of the Mirna and Lim bridges. Tolls are still only being charged at the Mirna bridge and at Vodnjan and Pula, although this will change soon. At the bottom end, an extension is well advanced over towards Medulin. When completed, it will take a lot of the pressure off the Pula by-pass.
The new road that is being built to link Ponte Porton and the Mirna valley with the Ypsilon at the Novigrad turnoff is also progressing. The stretch on the valley bottom that extends the existing Myrna Valley road is ready for asphalting and the stretch up the hillside has already been done.
