Holidays in Croatia - the tourism industry of this picturesque state on the Adriatic coast shows all the signs of recovery after the crisis. Tourist industry of Croatia in the third quarter of 2010 was able to reach some of the best indicators among its closest competitors - Greece, Montenegro and Bulgaria. The number of tourists, who choose holidays in Croatia in July-September, turned out to be for 4.5% higher than last year. At the same time, growth in tourist traffic to Europe on average was for 2.6%, while in the Mediterranean region - 2,1%.
2010 was the most successful for tourism in Croatia for all time of conducting statistics surveys about tourist inflow and overnight stays in this country. As noted by the Croatian press, the growth in demand for hotels in Dubrovnik, villas in Istria, apartments in Makarska Riviera, as well as tours of Istria, allows the Croatian tourist agencies to look with optimism into the future. Croatian media have noted that the average figures of tourist statistics have been twice as good as in some travel powers in the Mediterranean. So favorable indicators allow many tour operators to make auspicious forecasts on holidays in Croatia 2011.
The growth of tourism in Croatia continues for the last two months of autumn - a period that on the Adriatic is considered to be a low season. So, in November 2010 the number of tourist arrivals in Croatia rose by 7,6% compared with last year. Total number of overnight stays in November 2010 in Croatia rose by 4,8%. The basis of the growth of tourism industry of Croatia in November was provided by the foreigners. Tourists from abroad occupied Croatian hotels, villas and apartments very actively. The growth of guest arrivals among foreigners rose by more than 14%. More than 17% increase is shown in the number of overnight stays that tourists spent in Croatia.
To date, the basis of tourism in Croatia consists of the Germans, for whom the Croatian resorts are the same things as the Crimea or Sochi for residents of the CIS. At the same time, Croatia plan to attract to its resorts not only Europeans. The Croatian newspaper “Vecernji List” quoted the Minister of Tourism of Croatia, who declared its intention to actively attract tourists from the United States. Now there is considered the possibility of arranging direct international flights from major U.S. cities in Croatia in 2011. It is worth noting that this summer Croatia was visited by many American celebrities such as Eva Longoria and others.
