Turning the Ypsilon into a full dual carriageway has started. The section from Kanfanar to Vodnjan is currently closed and there are diversions onto the old road past Bale.
The northern section of the Porec ring road is well under way and the sections from the Novigrad road at Sv. Vodopija to the Kastelir/Vizinada road and from there around to the top of the industrial estate which links to the existing bit joining the Pazin road are well under way. They should be completed for the new year. The Southern section to Funtana should start next year.
The new super sports stadium is now complete and the last of the new car parks for it are being completed. While they are doing it, the traffic along the existing Porec bypass is being diverted between the Pazin road junction and the next one South of it.
A new industrial area is being constructed at Zbandaj and, like the new Visnjan one, it has EU Phare funding as part of the run up to becoming integrated into the EU.

The diversions via Bale while the Southern section of the Ypsilon is being made into a dual carriageway are still in place.
The Northern Porec bypass is nearing completion. The lighting has been installed and asphalting is likely within the next 3 weeks. Completion will make access into the commercial area, where our new offices are, very much easier, especially during the summer, as it will eliminate the need to go through the series of traffic lights on the current main road. Visitors to ourselves, Lidl and Plodine will be able to drop in from the ring road at the top, instead of coming up from the traffic lights by Konsum.

We normally just cover the Istrian roads, but it may be worth mentioning that for anyone coming over from Zagreb, the Rijeka bypass is also currently being rebuilt as a full dual carriageway and while it is being done, regional traffic is being diverted through Rijeka itself. This is obviously much more time consuming, particularly mid to late afternoon.
The Zagreb-Rijeka road is now open to motorway standards for its full length.

The Porec Bypass is now open from the Porec-Pazin road right round to the Porec-Novigrad coast road, with a new junction on the Porec-Vizinada road.
The Ypsilon South of Vodnjan towards the airport seems to be closed all day and is presumably in the final stages of dualling, as this was the first section started. The section from Kanfanar south to where the Ypsilon used to finish a couple of years ago is closed in the middle of the day while they haul out rock while dualling that section, but is open at other times. Diversions are straightforward along the old pre-Ypsilon road, do not take much longer and are less boring !
There are currently road works on the Northern Pula ring road by the side road into where Pevec are, as well as on the Easterly ring road near the Premantura turn off.

The Ypsilon from Kanfanar North to Visnjan is currently closed early in the morning from 05.00 to 08.00 whilst preparatory works for the widening are taking place. It is open during the rest of the day. Traffic is being diverted onto the old Pula-Trieste road.
The Ypsilon South of Vodnjan is closed while the bottom end down to the airport is being finished off. Traffic is being diverted onto the old road that comes into Pula from the North West. Allow extra time if heading for the airport as you will have to go around the busy Pula ring road.

For those coming from Trieste airport, you will be pleased to know that the diversions around Trieste are no longer and you can now travel on Motorway all the way from the airport to Koper in Slovenia. Don't forget to buy a pass to go through Slovenia at the border. They are now following the lead of other countries like Austria and charging for traffic passing through the country. There is no toll booth as such so you will have to stop to buy one.

Currently, although the Ypsilon is open, the junctions north(Visnjan) and east (Baderna) of Porec are closed. Drivers coming from the north and needing Porec should leave at the Novigrad exit, just before the Myrna bridge and go via Novigrad. Drivers from the south will need to leave at the first junction after the Limski bridge and use the old Pula Trieste road up to Sv.Lovrec, then turn to Porec near the cemetary at Sv.Lovrec.

The junctions on the Ypsilon at Visnjan and Baderna have reopened although there are closures for two hours in the middle of the day.
The road between Kastelir and Vizinada is currently closed north of Kastelir while the bridge carrying the Ypsilon over it is being widened and concrete casting is taking place. Diversions are in place via Visnjan and Baskoti for the next two weeks.

The Baderna junction on the Ypsilon has closed again and as the access road is currently ripped up, is likely to be closed for some time until it is reinstated.

The Baderna junction has now been finished and is open again, complete with future toll booth.
Meanwhile, the Visnjan junction has been closed while that is rebuilt. If you want to get to North Porec, Tar, Kastelir, Lanterna or Vizinada and you are coming from the North, be sure to come off the Ypsilon at the Novigrad turnoff, North of the Myrna Valley, otherwise you will have to continue all the way to Baderna, before you can get off. You can then use the coast road to reach your destination or cut back across from Tar to Labinci to reach Vizinada or Visnjan.
If you are coming from Pula, get off at Baderna, otherwise you will have to go past Visnjan and through the toll booths and cross the Myrna Viaduct before you can get off.
Cheers

The Visnjan junction is still closed.
The bottom end of the Ypsilon South of Vodnjan remains closed and all traffic is being diverted onto the old road between there and Pula.

The Medaki junction, just North of the Lim Viaduct, for Vrsar and Sv.Lovrec has reopened. The South Vodnjan junction is still closed. The Visnjan junction is still closed but doesn't look far off completion. There is now asphalt on the new carriageway all the way from Pula to Kanfanar, although it is only in use at junctions, as now they have been rebuilt, it only works if you can use both carriageways at the junctions, but you are soon diverted back to the two way running on the original carriageway.
