I live up the road and I'm in Porec every day. It's a smashing place to live and work. The old town still has the Roman street pattern. There is plenty going on, although it is probably a bit tame for the 18-25 crowd. There are lots of nice villages within 20 mins and it is only over the water to Venice. You can do Venice as a day trip, taking the early ferry and coming back late afternoon.

Hi Cameron - we have a small place almost renovated off the main highway at thr Rovinj turnoff. Porec is about 20 mins drive and we are pretty frequent visitors to the Dali restaurant - having been introduced to it by Peter! London-based but back in mid-Sept! Jules
