excuse me for being green....is it possible to buy property in croatia/kosovo for 30,000 GBP. i am a builder in england and have completed several renovation projects here. now the uk market is looking bleak and i am looking to invest in property abroad and do the same thing. i have been told by an employee of mine who is kosovan that property can be bought for as little as 6,000 GBP in kosovo. if so would you consider it a wise investment? i have also heard of cheap property in bulgaria which i have looked at over the net but on one of your forum pages you have basically said that prices there are very unlikely to increase, please explain why. ps. i have a habit of running before i can walk please tell me if you think this is the case.. thanks for your time

kosovo and croatia are completely different entities, your welcome to kosovo, bring on croatia its beautifull as for £ 30,000 you might get a cowshed for that now, prices have moved on considerably, amanda lamb and co have a lot to answer for!!

Really Gary I cannot stress enough that you do not want to(and possibly cannot) buy a property in kosovo. It is under UN and Nato control and it's final status is in doubt. Also the president of the regional parliament Ramus Haradinaj has just been sent to the war crimes tribunal and today his brother Enver Haradinaj was murdered in a terrorist power struggle. The Good news is for thirty grand you can still get a lovely property in Montenegro less than an hours drive from Dubrovnik.(search google). If you email me at borland1973@yahoo.co.uk if give you a few hints and tell you who to see about a mortgage. jc
