Istria hosts Days of Adriatic Squid from Croatian Times The Days of Adriatic Squid will be held in a dozen restaurants in the western part of the Croatian peninsula of Istria from this week up to 6 January 2014. The restaurants taking part in the manifestation will offer full course menus based on Adriatic squid, all in combination with local wines and olive oils of highest quality. This gourmet manifestation, apart from presenting an additional motive for visiting North-west Istria at the time of Christmas holidays, is endeavouring to present the quality of remarkable squid from the Adriatic Sea, which is hunted just in the winter period. It intends to raise awareness of its value in the kitchen and encourage caterers to devise new and creative recipes based on this sea food.
